Alkek Library Libqual Results

The results of the LibQual survey have been tallied and the comments from the Texas State community have been distributed to the different departments. Some of you may know this already, but the survey the library used is part of a national survey instrument that was created by the Association of Research Libraries, not us here at Alkek. You can read more about it here.

What Alkek is most interested in are the results. The library will use the results and comments to imrove, add, or alter the library services you want and to make your use of the library positive and relevant to your academic experience, research and learning. The comments we received are taken seriously. Anything that we can act on immediately we do. Also, comments that were made that were just a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge about library resources, we will address and try to make it clearer to you, our users, that yes we do have a subscription to X or we can increase the collection in an area that you think is lacking.

Stay tuned for more updates about the survey results. In the fall, one of the most frequent comments we received will be a reality: The second floor computers will all be open to email and all but one group of computers will have the full Office suite. So now there won't be so much time waiting for a computer in the lab or for a laptop! More changes will come later on too...

Thanks again for participating in the survey and congratulations to those who won an ipod...
