New Databases

Here is an alphabetical list of databases added to the collection over the past year. To find these databases again, click the appropriate letter from the aphabetical list. The databases will also be listed under the subject heading most related to the content of the database:

Accounting Research Manager (Audit Public Version) from CCH
Accounting Research Manager provides links to primary source documents issued by the following agencies/organizations: Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), American Institute Of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Emerging Issues Tax Force (EITF), International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), General Accounting Office (GAO), Office of Management and Budgets authoritative and proposal-stage literature (OMB). The database also includes proposal-stage literature plus e in-depth interpretations from financial reporting experts.


Alt-HealthWatch from EBSCO
Focuses on the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated approaches to health care and wellness. It offers libraries an immediate resource of full text articles from more than 170 international peer-reviewed and professional journals, magazines, reports, proceedings, association & consumer newsletters (most from 1990 to the present), plus hundreds of pamphlets, booklets, special reports, original research and book excerpts.


Alternative Press Index Archive from Firstsearch
Index of journals covering cultural, economic, political & social change 1969-1990. Indexes alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines.


ARTstor from ARTstor
ARTstor is a repository of hundreds of thousands of digital images and related data.The ARTstor Charter Collection currently contains approximately 300,000 images; by 2006 it is expected to contain 500,000. The Charter Collection documents artistic traditions across many times and cultures and embraces architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other forms of visual culture.\

Bibliography of Native North Americans from EBSCO
Bibliography of Native North Americans (BNNA) is a bibliographic database covering all aspects of native North American culture, history, and life. BNNA contains more than 80,000 citations for books, essays, journal articles, and government documents of the United States and Canada. Dates of coverage for included content range from the sixteenth century to the present.


Book Index with Reviews from EBSCO
Complimentary subscription, expires on 6/30/07. Book Index with Reviews (BIR) provides information on over 3.8 million book titles in a wide range of formats, including large print, books on tape, etc. Fiction and non-fiction titles for juvenile and adult audiences are included in the database, in all genres. The product contains over 800,000 full-text searchable reviews from sources such as Library Journal, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, CHOICE, and others.


Book Review Index from Gale
A comprehensive online guide to book reviews with over five million review citations from thousands of publications. Covers 1965 to the present.


Business Source Complete from EBSCO
Provides full text 3,787 scholarly business journals covering management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and much more. Indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals back to 1886 are included. In addition to the searchable cited references provided for more than 1,200 journals


Cabell's Directories of Publishing Opportunities from Cabell Publishing
Cabell’s directories identify major journals in Accounting, Economics & Finance, Management, Marketing, Psychology, and Curriculum & Methods. Journal information includes contact information, manuscript topics, submission guidelines, review process, acceptance rate, and circulation information.


Campus Research from Thomson West
Includes decisions and case law from all state and federal courts; laws from all state and federal statutes; federal regulations; American Law Reports; American Jurisprudence 2d.; legal materials from Europe; law review and legal journal articles


CINAHL Plus With Full Text from EBSCO
Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health. Covers nursing, biomedicine, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and allied health disciplines. Besides journals, the database indexes health care books, dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals, as well as Evidence-Based Care Sheets. Searchable cited references for more than 990 journals are included. Full text is available for hundreds of journals, plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. Indexing and full text goes back to 1937.


Consumer Health Complete from Ebsco
Consumer Health Complete provides content covering all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated medicine. Topics covered include aging, cancer, diabetes, drugs & alcohol, fitness, nutrition & dietetics, children's health, men & women's health, etc. The database contains the full text of approx. 176 health reference books and encyclopedias as well as thousands of evidence-based health reports. Also included is a collection of 500 medical-related images from Nucleus Medical Art. The Medical Image Collection is accessible via the “Medical Images & Diagrams” icon in the database.

CQ Researcher from CQ Press
In-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy from 1960 - Present. Reports are published weekly in print and online 44 times a year by CQ Press, a division of Congressional Quarterly Inc. Each single-themed, 12,000-word report is researched and written by a seasoned journalist. Reports include an introductory overview; background and chronology on the topic; an assessment of the current situation; tables and maps; pro/con statements from representatives of opposing positions; and bibliographies of key sources.

Early English Books Online
Early English Books Online (EEBO) contains digital facsimile page images of virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America and works in English printed elsewhere from 1473-1700 - from the first book printed in English by William Caxton, through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare and the tumult of the English Civil War.


ECONOMIA Y NEGOCIOS from EBSCO
ECONOMIA Y NEGOCIOS is produced in Peru by ESAN (Escuela de Administración de Negocios para Graduados), the oldest graduate school of business in the Spanish-speaking world. This Spanish language database, which focuses on business and economics, consists of more than 60,000 bibliographic records. Coverage dates back to the early 1980s and includes over 200 periodicals published in Latin America and Spain.


eLibrary Curriculum from
eLibrary Curriculum Edition is not appropriate for college level research and is included primarily for the use of education majors. It is a collection of curriculum and reference resources designed specifically for K-12 schools and libraries. It includes approx. 2,000 full-text magazines, newspapers, reference books, and transcripts, as well as thousands of pictures, maps, educator-approved websites.


Encyclopedia of Language & Linguistics from Elsevier
The Encyclopedia of Language & Linguistics is an online version of a 14-volume encyclopedia that exploits the multimedia potential of the online environment, offering the full text of over 3,000 articles and 39,000 references; rich multimedia through video and audio; basic and advanced searching across the whole work or sections; and extensive internal and external cross-referencing and linking.


HAPI Online from UCLA
HAPI Online, the Web version of the Hispanic American Periodicals Index, combines current information about Latin America with in-depth coverage spanning more than thirty years, from 1970 to the present. HAPI is your source for authoritative, worldwide information about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean basin, the United States-Mexico border region, and Hispanics in the United States. From analyses of current political, economic, and social issues to unique coverage of Latin American arts and letters, HAPI Online contains complete bibliographic citations to articles, book reviews (through 2001), documents, original literary works, and other materials appearing in more than 500 key social science and humanities journals published throughout the world. Many of the citations are linked to full text.


Humanities International Complete from EBSCO
Produced by Whitston Publishing, this database includes all data from Humanities International Index plus the full text for about one third of the journals. Major subject areas include literature, philosophy, the arts, history, culture and multi-disciplinary humanities titles, with a special emphasis on literature and the literary arts. Title coverage goes back as far as 1929.
